Mobility assessments added to narrow down and confirm muscles that demands attention. Easy to perform and less stress on the body. Better look at the condition of the major joints. Focuses on the specific exercises for you and tracks progress through future assessments.
Before, there were range of motion testing and manual muscle testing. To check which muscles cause the restriction. Restrictions observed during the static and movement assessments. Yet, both were time consuming and labor intensive. Mobility assessments introduced for ease of use and interpretation. Serves as reliable feedback on the effectiveness of the program over time. It narrows down which muscles cause the restriction at that specific checkpoint.
For example:
During the static assessment, the CES observes “rounded shoulders” considered a postural distortion. Also, observes “arms falling down” considered an impairment during the movement assessment. So, the mobility assessment of the shoulder, head and neck, as well as/or thoracic spine gives more info.
For this purpose, there's targeted mobility assessments of major checkpoints. To focus and confirm observations made during previous assessments.
Examples of different mobility assessments which gives a simple answer: normal or restricted.

To conclude, the mobility assessment is more than flexibility. It accounts for an entire available range of motion at a checkpoint. Also, the neuromuscular control of that motion. It also provides even more pinpoint answers to the following questions:
A. Is mobility restricted?
B. Which muscles shortened or lengthened gives more to the observe movement impairment?
C. Among the shortened muscles, which specific one plays a more obvious role in the impairment?
D. Is the corrective exercise program remodeling the client’s mobility over time?
Note: Sorry for change in topic for this post. Wanted to update the new information to all clients regarding the new assessment added in corrective exercise.
